Rita Zniber admitted Knight of the Legion of Honor in France

French-Moroccan Rita Zniber, was appointed Knight of the Legion of Honor, in France, on January 1st, in recognition of her humanitarian work.

Entrepreneur and engaged humanitarian for thirty years, Rita Zniber, president of the group Diana Holding is one of the 336 personalities selected for the January 1st promotion of the famous French recognition.

Rita Zniber also chairs the Foundation that bears her name and helps children deprived of family. Ms. Zniber was born Duchesne, Marie-Françoise.

The business woman is not the only Moroccan to be on the list of recognized personalities by the President of France. Moroccan writer, painter and sculptor, Mahi Binebine who recently published his novel Le fou du roi, was also decorated with the knight badge of the Legion of Honor.

Also Serge Van Gorkum, a Moroccan by heart and president and founder of the humanitarian association Al Baraka based in Marrakech, which supports disadvantaged children in rural high Atlas,  also received this distinction.

Every year in France, five promotions – three civilians and two military – of personalities distinguished by the Legion of Honor are published in the Official Journal. The names are proposed to the President of the Republic by his ministers.
