« Leila Alaoui’s footsteps » is the new traveling exhibition devoted to photographer Leila Alaoui, who died in a terrorist attack in Ouagadougou in January 2016. Organized by the Moroccan Community Council (CCME) in partnership with the Leila Alaoui Foundation, in order to recall » her exceptional career as a creator and activist for a more just and fraternal world « , as explained in a statement. 40 photos as well as texts of the late artist were chosen to highlight her work in Morocco.
“The exhibition aspires to remind the public that hatred is powerless in the face of Moroccan values of living together,” highlighted the same source.
Her works will first be exposed in Tangier Med from July to September, then in all the places where she stopped to be closer to the people she photographed. The exhibition will include stopovers in Tamesloht near Marrakech or in Merzouga, among others.
