This tribute comes at a convenient timing since the Bollywood star is about to reach a two-decade career milestone. After being bestowed with the Danny Kaye Humanitarian Award just a day ago, Priyanka Chopra was honored at the Marrakech Film Festival for her contribution to cinema.
Whether it’s Bollywood, Hollywood or even humanitarian work, nothing seems to intimidate the star with the exquisite career. Indeed, the global icon said earlier in the day during a conference that the challenge of making a name for herself somewhere where it’s unknown has become her addiction. “It’s my drug”.
Later in the evening, the Indian star was treated to a warm welcome on the mythical square of Jamaa El Fna, which she commented saying “so moved and filled with love”.
During this ceremony, the Golden Star of the Festival was awarded to Priyanka Chopra Jonas by Moroccan actor Omar Lotfi. This tribute was also marked by the screening of extracts of the most famous films she made throughout her journey. The open-air screening of the Indian film “Bajirao Mastani” by Sanjay Leela Bhansali then followed.
