We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz. The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives. More details will be shared in the forthcoming days.
“I am very happy to announce that Meghan and I had a baby this morning, a baby in very good health,” said the smiling Duke of Sussex to the television cameras in front of Windsor Castle, about 40 kilometers west of London.
“We are both absolutely delighted and grateful for all the love and support of all. It was amazing, so we just wanted to share that with everyone,” he said.
Although the baby was born “a little late,” the couple is yet to think of a name, said Prince Harry. The son of Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37-year-old former American actress, will take seventh place in the order of succession to the British throne. He is the eighth great-grandchild of 93-year-old Queen Elizabeth II and 97-year-old Prince Philip.
