Timitar Festival kicked off on July 4th, with a rich program in sounds! It was Zagora’s group Rokkba Ahl Essalam who first performed on the stage of Al Amal Square and thus set the tempo of the evening with an atypical traditional dance.
An exquisite trip took the public off to Jamaica with the famous Inner Circle reggae band, which is the author of the hit songs “Sweat”, “Bad Boy” and “Tenement Yard”. These legends of Jamaican pop have shared the poster with several artists in the past like Elton John.
In the second half of the evening, the famous Amazigh group Oudaden and especially Aymane Serhani were the target of an amassed crowds. The latter is one of the most popular Moroccan artists among young people. Each of his music videos is seen tens of millions of times! Among them, one of the most famous “Nebghi Djini Bsurvet”.
The festivities of this first day were also punctuated by the sets of DJ Taxi Kabir who comes from a family of artists, passionate about music and traditional Moroccan instruments. With him, it was a perfect mix between electro, tribal songs and rhythms of the Middle East and Africa. In short, the music of the evening was powerful and has set a wonderful taste of the upcoming festivities.
