The official royal visit has been making headlines ever since the couple’s arrival. Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle arrived on Saturday night at the Mohammed V International Airport. They were greeted by the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, Governor of Casablanca Prefecture, Said Ahmiddouch, and the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Morocco, Thomas Reilly.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were firstly greeted by the governor of the province of Nouaceur and the presidents of the provincial assembly and the council of that commune. Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan then welcomed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to the Palace of Hosts in Rabat. Upon their arrival, they reviewed a Royal Guard detachment that performed the honors, before being invited to the traditional ceremony of offering milk and dates.
The royal couple’s trip is part of the strengthening of Moroccan-British cooperation and the promotion of education and gender equality through visits to schools and meetings with young people as a British diplomatic source said in Rabat.
