Omayma El Guerssifi wins first edition of Farid Belkahia prize

The Farid Belkahia Prize has just been created and was awarded to the young painter Omayma El Guerssifi, graduate of the National Institute of Fine Arts of Tetouan.


Omayma El Guerssifi is the first winner of the first edition of the Farid Belkahia Prize launched by the eponymous Foundation as part of its socio-educational program, in collaboration with the OCP group.

The aim is to encourage the new generation of Moroccan painters and attract young people’s interest in painting and contemporary art. The works of Omayma El Guerssifi caused a sensation with the jury of professionals comprising of Rajae Benchemsi, Hubert Martin and Brahim Alaoui who reviewed several files from the winners of the National Institute of Fine Arts both in Casablanca and Tetouan.

The young woman of the National Institute of Fine Arts of Tetouan will receive, on September 15, a check for 50,000 dirhams and will see her paintings hung for the occasion, and until October 13 in the hall Diwan Al Majalis at the foundation.
