The music festival merging Africa and the Middle East has selected fifty artists and DJs on more than 800 applications received. Among them, many women like Moroccan Soukaina Fahsi, Les Insoumises and Sophia Charaï, the Palestinian Rasha Nahas, the Algerian Samira Brahmia, the Ugandan Sandra Nakouma, the Germans Germaine Kobo & Bella Lawson, the Senegalese Aida Samb, the Mozambican Isabel Novella or Zimbabwean Edith Weutonga, to name a few.
Artists who have been carefully selected by a jury of five members from the world of music and culture, namely the artist and cultural actor Amine Hamma (Morocco), the poet and festival programmer Herman Kabubi (Uganda), cultural actresses Rania Elias (Palestine) and Nathalie Mefe (Cameroon) and musician and artistic director Imed Alibi (Tunisia).
Since 2014, 1,500 artists have taken part in this event which also counts 250 showcases of 40 minutes intended primarily for professionals and 2,810 speed meetings.
As a reminder, Visa For Music’s mission is to highlight the artistic creation of Africa and the Middle East. A successful bet also considering the number of spectators: 64 000 people have made the trip since its inception!
