Nadia Ben Bahtane awarded at the International Sports and Recreation Fair

Nadia Ben Bahtane, the first Moroccan woman to swim across the Straits of Gibraltar, was awarded the Coup de Coeur prize at the International Sports and Recreation Fair (SISL), held from 28 September to 1 October in Casablanca.

High-level athlete Nadia Ben Bahtane won the Coup de Coeur award at the second edition of the Trophies for the International Sport and Recreation Exhibition (SISL), held from 28 September to 1 October in Casablanca. « For me, this year, it was a lot of emotion and pride and always a pleasure to meet passionate people who are committed  to sports and their values,  » she posted on her Facebook account a few hours after ceremony.

In 2015, Nadia Ben Bahtane swam her way through the Strait of Gibraltar, to become the first Moroccan to do so. This exceptional athlete has since become one of the world’s top 50 open water female swimmers.

Her latest achievement was carried out in June, where she swam from Corsica to Sardinia in 5h20.
