Morocco’s Zineb Ech-chabki wins African wrestling championship

Morocco’s Zineb Ech-chabki won the African wrestling championship and qualifies for Buenos Aires 2018  Summer Youth Olympics.

Moroccan champion Zineb Ech-chabki (49kg) won the gold medal at the African Wrestling Championships in Nigeria, earning a spot for the Youth Olympic Games ( YOG) in Buenos Aires, the Fédération royale marocaine de luttes associées announced.

At only 15, the young Moroccan wrestler won a landslide victory over the Egyptian champion in a final on Sunday (February 11th). Before this meeting, Ech-chabki, who trained at the Rachad El Jadidi club under the leadership of Driss Bouazouni and Mohammed Kharssani, had beaten in series, an Algerian, a Tunisian, a Nigerian and a Cameroonian, according to the same source.
