Moroccans march in solidarity with Palestine

A big civil march was organized on Sunday May 20 in Casablanca, in solidarity with the Palestinian people, following the rise of violence by the Israeli army in the Gaza borders, which left more than 50 dead and thousands wounded on the Palestinian side.

The participants in the protest, at the call of political parties and national organizations, strongly condemned the transfer of the US embassy to Al-Quds, a decision that provoked a wave of indignation and widespread protests in the occupied territories.

According to MAP, participants, of all ages and from different parts of the Kingdom, took the departure from Place “Annasr” to cross the boulevards of Paris and Lalla El Yakout, before dispersing in boulevards Rachidi and Hassan II, chanting slogans and waving flags in an expression of national solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Last Monday was one of the deadliest in Palestine since 2014. A few hours before the opening of the US embassy in Jerusalem, a clash took place between the Palestinian people and the Israeli army.
