Moroccan Ismahane Elouafi is the new Chief Scientist at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

Moroccan Ismahane Elouafi has just been appointed to the new post of Chief Scientist at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) . An appointment, announced by FAO Director-General Qu Dongyua, at the 35th FAO Regional Conference for the Near East and North Africa (NERC 35) (September 21-22), which “Will further strengthen the technical and scientific dimension of FAO’s work”, as the UN organization explained in a press release, stressing that “its background and in-depth knowledge of the region will be an asset in meeting the challenges facing the countries of the Near East and North Africa”.
