Moroccan author Leila Slimani is among finalists of Goncourt and Renaudot awards

The latest novel by Leila Slimani, “Chanson douce”, is among the finalists of the prestigious award Goncourt ,presented annually by the Academy of the same name. It is also one of five finalists for the Renaudot award.

The Goncourt Academy has announced on Tuesday, October 25th, the four finalists, selected from the nine shortlisted books of October 4th to win the Goncourt.

The four competing authors are Catherine Cusset “L’autre qu’on adorait” (Gallimard), Gaël Faye with “Petit pays” (Grasset), Régis Jauffret with “Cannibales” (Threshold) and last but not least Leila Slimani with “Chanson douce” (Gallimard).

On the other hand, Leila Slimani is among the five finalists of the Renaudot prize. she is competing with Yasmina Reza “Babylone”, Simon Libérati “California Girls”, Régis Jauffret “Cannibales” and Adelaide de Clermont-Tonnerre “Le dernier des nôtres”.

The winners of both awards will be announced on November 3th at Parisian restaurant Drouant.
