Maître Gims’ boat under fire off Corsica, the rapper rescued

Maître Gims had experienced a big fright over the weekend. The boat he rented on Sunday, August 25 on the shore of Bonifacio was actually caught on fire a few meters away according to French reports.

The rapper, who was on board with two of his friends and two crew members, was rescued by the departmental gendarmerie. According to the Maritime Prefecture, the six people on board during the fire were able to abandon the vessel of 24 meters by boarding a Rigid-hulled inflatable boat before returning to the shore unharmed.

According to the media in Corsica, it is a damage in the motor that would have caused the impressive fire (below).

“The SNSM patrol 617 and the patrol vessel if the Gendarmerie departmentale 2A G109 quickly rushed on-site to secure the area,” says the Maritime Prefecture which evokes a “risk of significant pollution” while 3000 liters of fuel were in the vessels of the boat at the time of the fire.
