Leila’s voice is sure to captivate the Spanish public. Along with her band, the young artist is taking her first steps onto the Spanish scene on October 4 and 5 in Seville.
Born in the city of Oujda, Leila a.k.a Brown Lilly has been a music lover since a young age. At the age of 15, she recorded her first single, an echo of her regional roots tinged with the influence of world music. In 2015, the young singer formed her first group Snitra with whom she went on tour in addition to her participation in an artistic residency in Nouakchott, Mauritania in 2017. Leila is based now in Casablanca where she evolves musically through meetings with a panoply of well-known musicians sharing their experiences and know-how with her.
Leila is true to herself, a true woman whose voice echoes between fragility and power, as we read in a statement. Her intelligent and original songwriting mixes English, Darija and Literary Arabic and her music is catchy and accessible to all, a harmonious mix of the different styles of her region which she combines with grace and lightness with her rock, reggae and blues influences.
