The news was announced on social networks by several artists as well as the Moroccan journalist Youssef Belhaissi. The one who’s nationally known for his role in the legendary sitcom “Lalla Fatima” has just passed away.
A native of Casablanca, the actor has to his credit a multitude of successful theatrical, film, and television productions including “Costa ya Watan”, “Barrak Ma Takchaâ”, and “Number one”.
The late, who had formed a famous duet with his wife Khadija Assad, won the best actor award at the Montreal festival in Canada and the same category award at the Bastia festival in France.
The deceased rose to fame in the 1980s with the “theater 80” troupe and was one of the first professionals to take an interest in union action since he was one of the founders of the national union of theater professionals. He was, in this sense, the first secretary-general of this union currently known as the “Moroccan Union of Dramatic Arts Professionals”.
