This year, the Boulevard welcomed some fifty Moroccan and international groups. Among them were names of international renown: Carcass, legendary British extreme metal band, and pioneer of the goregrind of melodic death metal; the Moroccan rapper Dizzy Dros who whose videos have reached millions of views; or the Dutch rappers Dope DOD, known for hardcore hip hop with dubstep sounds.
Candidates took part in the RUC stage competition between September 13 and 15, and the winners were announced on the last evening of the festival this past weekend. The prize consisted of performing the first part of the concerts scheduled on September 20, 21 and 22 in addition to technical and artistic training.
The last day of this 19th edition saw the consecration of the group Snitra from Oujda who opened the concert before: Martha Da’ro (Belgium), Filastine & Nova (Spain/USA/Indonesia), Dubioza Kolektiv (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and last but not least, the Gnawa prodigy Hassan Boussou who shared the stage with rookie artists Gnawa Racines.
