Launch of the 6th “Arab Reading Challenge” contest in Dakhla

The sixth edition of the “Arab Reading Challenge” was kicked off at Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, with a view to promoting the act of reading in schools in the region.

Initiated under the theme “With reading, we live”, the sixth edition of the competition “Arab reading challenge” was launched on Saturday, January 8 at Dakhla-Oued Eddahab.

In a statement to MAP, the director of the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) in Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, Ejjida Ellabig explained that this competition aims to raise awareness of the importance of reading and encourage young people to read, starting from the fact that the act of reading contributes to the development of the pupil’s personality and strengthens these linguistic and intellectual capacities.

For his part, the regional coordinator in charge of the “Arab Reading Challenge” program, Khalid Labgairi said that this meeting is part of the stages of the cultural and educational project led by the United Arab Emirates and in which the Ministry of National Education and AREF has been involved since 2015.

AREF ensures every year that this competition is implemented, as a mechanism that aims to promote reading among the rising generation, he continued, stressing that reading is the key to success and academic achievement.
