“This Professional Equality Trophy is a recognition of the actions carried out by the teams to promote the role of women in our factories,” said Malika Youssoufine Director of Human Resources, Communication & CSR and Brahim Ez-zerrouqi, Industrial Director both of whom are sponsors of the Ensemble Project.
Resolutely committed to respecting fundamental labor rights and convinced of the importance of diversity for the development and economic growth of the company, LafargeHolcim Maroc (LHM) has made gender diversity a major strategic issue. The challenge is even greater when it comes to the cement sector, reputed to be a male industry where women find it more difficult to fit in, particularly in technical positions. LHM has decided to wager and to reverse the trend through a process of strategic reflection involving all the components of the company.
This proactive and participative approach was reflected in 2018 by the “Together” project, launched in partnership with GIZ (German International Cooperation Agency), with the ambition of making LafargeHolcim Maroc, the preferred employer of women in the Moroccan industrial sector.
A joint working group was formed in December 2018. The “LafargeHolcim Maroc Diversity Charter” was signed and disseminated in March 2019 with everyone’s commitment to supporting the principle of diversity by emphasizing equality of chances in terms of recruitment, training, career development, evaluation, promotion and pay equity.
