Written by FDM

Jamel Debbouze has made an important decision. During the 9th edition of the Marrakech du Rire organized from June 12th to 16th in Marrakech, the comedian and Franco-Moroccan actor revealed to RTL that he wants to take a break from his stage career.

“I am always very surprised to see the full rooms and the pleasure that I continue to take in it , (…) it’s great. But for me to continue to take from it, I must also clean sort out myself. I’ll stop in December and I know I will not go back on stage for years, that’s for sure, “said the 44-year-old comedian.

“I’ll have to regenerate myself in a certain way. If you ask me what I want to do here today … nothing. Absolutely nothing anymore. I gave a lot, a lot and today I want to take. If I want to be able to surprise, I have to surprise myself and the best way is to retreat. Let the body and the mind rest, to look for new things or at least interesting things,” he added.

A decision that does not mark a final point in the career of Jamel Debbouze, especially in the cinema. After appearing in “Alad’2” where he played alongside Kev Adams, Jamel Debbouze intends to pursue his career in the seventh art, mainly as an actor.

In September will begin the 10th season of the Jamel Comedy Club on Canal +.In the fall, the comedian will return to the roads for the tour of his show “Maintenant ou Jamel” which will conclude in December.
