Ivanka Trump’s visit includes the promotion of her Women’s Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) program. The Global Initiative for Women’s Development and Prosperity is a program created in February 2019 by President Trump that aims to boost the economic empowerment of 50 million women by 2025.
Ivanka Trump will pay a visit to Sidi Kacem and will also have meetings with Moroccan officials in Rabat and Casablanca.
According to the White House, this is Ms. Trump’s third international trip to promote her W-GDP initiative, with previous trips, including Ethiopia, Ivory coast, Colombia, Argentina, and Paraguay.
Ivanka Trump had “applauded” last August, in a tweet, the Moroccan government following the adoption of the laws relating to Soulaliyates lands. She had considered that this reform represented, for Morocco, an “important step towards the adoption of the amendments of the law on inheritance”. And to add: “we look forward to supporting its full implementation”.
