Several Italian cities have been quarantined in an attempt to contain the virus, and the Venice Carnival was suspended.

The Italian government quarantined Saturday evening two areas of Lombardy (around the city of Codogno) and Veneto, a village near Padua to try to contain this epidemic of Covid-19, unprecedented so far in Europe.

Meantime, the festivities of the Venice Carnival, which was to end on Tuesday, February 25th, were canceled from Sunday, February 23rd as well as all the sporting events of the region.
