International label: 21 Moroccan beaches certified with “Blue Flag”

The Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasna, has awarded the “Blue Flag” beach label to 21 new beaches for this summer season, including the Saïda marina which will hoist it for the second time.

Out of the 40 Moroccan applicant beaches for the famous international label “Blue Flag”, 21 may hoist it this summer. They were selected by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasna, which rewards the efforts of the communes for their action on the quality of waters, information, sensitization and environmental education, health and safety and beach planning and management.

Named beaches are:

2. Aglou sidi moussa / Tiznit
3. Arekmane (Nador)
4. Ba-kacem (Tangier-Asilah)
5. Bouznika
6. Skhirate
7. El Moussafir / Dakhl
8. Essaouira
9. Foum loued / Laayoune
10. Haouzia
11.Dalia / Fahs Anjra
12. Oued Aliane / Fahs-Anjra
13. Oued Laou / Tetouan
14. Oum to plow / Dakhla
15. Safi city
16. Souiria lkdima / Safi
17. Tourist resort of Saïdia
18. Cape Beddouza / Safi
19. Sidi Kankouch 1 / Fahs Anjra,
20. Sidi Ifni
21. Imintourga (Mireleft);

As a reminder, the “Blue Flag” label is a component of the “Clean Beaches” plan coordinated by the Foundation with the relevant ministerial departments. This year, 102 beaches have enrolled in this program to welcome summer visitors in the best conditions and preserve the environment while raising awareness. Globally, the Blue Flag label is accorded to 3,687 beaches in 49 countries in Europe, Africa, and America.
