International Book Fair of Casablanca: Egypt as guest of honor

The Ministry of Culture unveiled, during a press conference held last Friday, the program of the 24th edition of the International Book Fair of Casablanca (SIEL) held from 9 to 18 February.

The guest of honor of this  24th edition is none other than Egypt. The program of this edition, developed by the Editors, Libraries and Archives at the Ministry in coordination with the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, will focus on Moroccan-Egyptian relations, the question of culture, the problematic of philosophy and the role of the Egyptian writer Jamal El Ghitani.

This program also focuses on the specificities of novelists’ experience in Egypt and Morocco, Egyptian news, book presentations, poetic readings and Egyptian folkloric art. Several writers, novelists and Egyptian researchers will take part in this edition.

Moreover, a panoply of writers, researchers and intellectuals from different countries will take part in this 24th edition of the SIEL as well. Debates, conferences, roundtables are planned throughout this inevitable cultural event.
