TIBU Maroc and the United States Embassy in Morocco have unveiled their new center for the development of motor, cognitive and socio-emotional skills for 200 young Moroccan students and refugees in Laâyoune.
TIBU Laâyoune Center by US Embassy Morocco is thus the 22nd center, crowning the commitment between its two partners to meet the major challenges of Moroccan society and mainly the education and empowerment of young people. “Faced with the current situation facing the world and Morocco with regards to the health crisis and in light of diplomatic advancements in the southern provinces of the Kingdom, sport manifests itself as an effective and efficient tool to respond to complex issues which slow down the development of these regions ”, declared Mohamed Amine Zariat, Ashoka Fellow and founding president of the TIBU Morocco organization.
The program consists of Learning individual and collective orange ball techniques, workshops focusing on STEM and foreign languages as well as modules promoting leadership. This program converges with the strategic vision of the 2015-2030 reform of the Ministry of National Education which aims to overhaul a modern and qualitative education model. TIBU Maroc plans to make this new center a new brick in the development model of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, which has just achieved a great consecration by receiving the prize for “The Euro-Mediterranean sports region 2021”.
