Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, President of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, chaired, Wednesday, November 13, at the Hassan II International Environmental Training Center in Bouknadel, the Lalla Hasnaa sustainable coastline Awards Ceremony, rewarding the best initiatives for the coast.

Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, President of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, chaired, Wednesday, November 13, at the Hassan II International Environmental Training Center in Bouknadel, the Lalla Hasnaa sustainable coastline Awards Ceremony, rewarding the best initiatives for the coast.

The Lalla Hasnaa trophies on the sustainable coastline were presented to the winners on Wednesday, November 13 by HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa. A series of prizes aimed at stimulating environmental awareness in Morocco and rewarding citizen initiatives, the Foundation hoping to induce awareness and general mobilization for the coast. For this 3rd edition, no less than 130 projects have been submitted.

The verdict

The “Clean Beaches Program” awards were handed to the development of the Sidi Kankouch beach1, sponsored by the Crédit Agricole du Maroc group, to the development of the Souiria Kdima beach, sponsored by the OCP group, to eco-tourism and fight against pollution on the beach of Dahomey, sponsored by Barid Al Maghrib, to the Saidia Beach Cleanliness Brigade, sponsored by the Homarcom group and to awareness, sports, cultural and artistic activities for the benefit of young people and vacationers from Bouznika Beach, sponsored by the National Office of Electricity and Water-Water Branch.

The “Sharing and Living” trophies were won by the “weigh your bag and gain a fabric” project at the Haouzia beach, sponsored by the Banque Populaire Foundation, the operation stones and pebbles citizens at the beach of Oued El Marsa, sponsored by the North Africa Tobacco Company, to the program “our young people are the best friends of the marine environment”, realized by the company Al Marjane of diving and water sports at the Marina de Salé and the initiative ” All to protect our maritime heritage “, realized by the Association of Champions of the city of Fnideq for underwater sports and the protection of the environment.

The distinction “Protection and enhancement of the natural heritage” was won by the Moroccan Association for Research and Underwater Archaeological Protection Safi for its project “Circuit of marine treasures of the Atlantic”, the Agency for the development of the Marchica lagoon site for the “fabrication and immersion of artificial reefs”, at the University Mohammed I of Oujda for its project of the ecology and valorization of the algal biomass of the Mediterranean littoral of the Oriental, at the Faculty of Sciences of El Jadida for the valorization of the Japanese Sargassum, a brown alga of the Atlantic coasts as well as to the Association Anfis for the environment and the agricultural development of Foum El Oued for the projects of creation from a natural site to the mouth of the Sakia El Hamra Valley.

The “Education and Youth” trophies were awarded to the Ocean Science Forum, organized by the Safi polydisciplinary faculty under the Cadi Ayyad University, in the “Eco littoral” project, led by the Ecologia Association for Education in the Mediterranean. the Dalia Beach Library, created by the Tangier Med Foundation, to the Coastal Environment Education and Awareness Program, carried out at the M’Diq beach by the National Airports Authority (ONDA) and a youtube educational channel “the protectors of nature”, created by Soufiane Hafidi.

The “social and environmental responsibility of organizations” prize was handed over to environmental education and awareness-raising activities carried out by the municipality of Agadir, the preservation of Essaouira Bay through the establishment of ‘a mobile and compact treatment plant, carried out by Cohin Environnement Morocco, “Eaucean Gallery”, a concrete contribution to the preservation of the coastline, realized by Lydec, “our cleanest beach”, realized by the Association of the champions of the city of Fnideq for underwater sports and the protection of the environment and by “the beach of Foum El Oued is the friend of all”, actions in favor of people with reduced mobility, an initiative of the Association of support for people with disabilities in Laayoune.
