After Aziz El Fatehy’s troupe from the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region last year, moqaddem troupe Maher Elbachir from Settat province won the gold medal (seniors) in the final of the 19th Hassan II Trophy of Traditional Equestrian Arts “Tbourida”. A competition followed by the awards ceremony chaired by Prince Moulay Rachid and which included the presence of several personalities.
Also among the seniors were the troop of Toufiq Nassiri (province of Settat) who came second and the troupe of moqaddem Mhamed Zouaoui (Khouribga province) in third place. Prince Moulay Rachid also handed the gold medals to the riders of the moqaddem sorba Anass Farid (Youssoufia province), who won the youth title, as well as the silver and bronze medals respectively to Amine’s troops Oueld Chouata (Marrakech Menara province) and Driss Belhaj (Khémisset province).
Organized by the Moroccan Royal Federation of Equestrian Sports (FRMSE) and counting for the Moroccan Championships of traditional equestrian arts, this edition has brought together the 18 best “sorbas” seniors (17 years old and over) and the 6 juniors (between 12 and 16 years old), having brilliantly passed the regional and interregional competitions in more than 20 cities of the Kingdom.
The performance of the participating teams is evaluated on the basis of the “Hadda” which takes into consideration the riders’ behavior, the harmonious harnessing of the horses and the skillful handling of the rifles, as well as the “Talqa” which is scored according to the riders’ alignment and synchronization of gunshots (bursts).
