“Haj and His Wives”: Colorado ad deemed “archaic” and “degrading”

And yet another bad buzz surrounding an advertisement hits Moroccan social networks. A recently published ad by the brand Colorado is denounced as degrading for many Moroccan women.

For the promotion of its new paint hues, Colorado launched “Haj and His Wives”, a web-series that tells the story of a man divided between the color tastes of “his 4 women”. But the concept of the latter has not appealed to the taste of Internet users, especially since it highlights the subject of “polygamy” much criticized nowadays.

The first episode aired on June 11 on social networks has caused a wave of indignation among netizens who deem it “archaic” and “degrading to the Moroccan woman.”

Although Colorado has not made any public statements, the first episode of the web series was quickly removed, Thursday, June 14, from the brand’s social networks. When will these brands ever learn from the mistakes of others?!
