Golden Globes 2019: Rami Malek wins Best Actor, here’s the full list of winners

Written by FDM

On Sunday, the prestigious 76th Golden Globes ceremony, which kicks off the Hollywood awards season and sometimes paves the way for the prestigious Oscars, concluded with a lot of (small) surprises, including a disappointment for a movie presented as a favorite: “A star is born”, by Bradley Cooper, alongside Lady Gaga.

The biopic Bohemian Rhapsody based on the life of Queen’s lead singer has created a big surprise on Sunday at the Golden Globes, winning “Best drama” and “Best actor” for Rami Malek in his role of Freddie Mercury.

The other sacred feature films in this eclectic evening, bringing together the best of Hollywood, were Roma, by Mexican director Alfonso Cuaron, winning “Best Director” and “Best Foreign-Language film” over Nadine Labaki’s Capernaum.  Green Book, by Peter Farelly was the big winner of the night as it took away three awards: “Best comedy”, “Best screenplay” and “Best supporting actor” received by Mahershala Ali.

The 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards took place on Sunday, January 6, 2019. They were hosted by Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg and took place at the Beverly Hilton. You can see the full list of winners right here.
