Four Moroccan women have been featured in Facebook’s list of exceptional and fearless women of 2021 who lead the media industry throughout the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa.

Stylist and model Leila Haddioui, the architect Aïda Benchemsi, the founder of the association Jood, Hind Laidi, and the founder of “Cooking with Alia”, Alia El Kasimi, were chosen by Facebook as sources of inspiration in #SheCreates.

Facebook has developed an e-book, released on March 8, which features 26 women from the Middle East, North Africa (MENA), and Turkey region. The aim is to honor the personal and career journeys of “these women (who) are creating magic every day – designing and sharing ideas while inspiring and empowering millions of other women across the region through their talent, passion, and perseverance, ” read a Facebook press release.

This e-book highlights the experiences of women with words of encouragement and “advice for those who want to follow in their footsteps”. Derya Matras, Regional Director (Africa, Middle East, and Turkey) at Facebook declares that “across all sectors and industries, women are leading profound initiatives, growing businesses, and creating movements that touch the essence of this project: to inspire future generations of women for years to come.”

The women chosen in the e-book “each have their own stories to tell, have built their communities, grown their businesses, created movements, and inspired future generations to come together as they overcome unforeseen challenges”, indicates the same source.

In addition, a pre-recorded stream #SheCreates was launched on Facebook Arabia on March 8 to celebrate International Women’s Rights Day. The initiative highlights women who have “created change and who are forging a path of leadership in their fields, communities, and businesses”.
