Forbes Travel guide: Moroccan Hotels and Spas second most rated in MENA

Written by FDM

Morocco was listed by Forbes magazine in its 2018 Travel Guide as the country with the second most highly rated holiday properties in the MENA region.

Six properties and two spas is the number of rated vacation properties in Morocco that followed 33 in the United Arab Emirates, hotels and spas combined. According to Forbes “the winners were inspected on the basis of service and facility by Forbes inspectors, who stayed in the hotel for minimum of two nights keeping their identity anonymous at all times.”

Thus, the best estates listed in the kingdom are all located in the city of Marrakech. The top two are The Royal Mansour and the Mandarin Oriental. Each were awarded 5 star ratings, while La Mamounia and the Four Seasons Resort scored 4 stars each.

This isn’t the first time that The Royal Mansour and the Mandarin Oriental were recognized worldwide. In 2015, Royal Mansour was named best hotel in Africa at the ceremonial  “Prix Villégiature 2015” awards. Meanwhile, Mandarin Oriental was nominated for “best achievement in design”  worldwide at Virtuoso’s 10th annual “Best of the Best” hotel awards.

Forbes Travel Guide uses a rating system  to assess over 1,600 different hotels, restaurants, and spas in 50 different countries.  Five-star ratings are only “given to only a handful of the properties that have passed the travel guide’s stringent rating standards.”
