On Thursday, October 18, Loft Art Gallery in Casablanca held an opening for “La Quête du sans repos” (The Quest for the Restless) exhibition by Moroccan artist Mohamed Lekleti. It runs until November 17, 2018.

The works of Lekleti, imbued by his Moroccan culture, are exposed for the first time in Morocco. They refer to codes, symbols related to his story but draw the spectator into a world that exceeds all confined definition to “tell human life trajectories, to evoke the precariousness of existence, to account for our perception of the world “(Catherine Rigollet).

“And no one can claim to have a right perception, it is distorted by our experience, our culture, our beliefs.” The presentation of Lekleti’s works in Morocco resonates like a return to his roots and his origins while addressing the collective unconscious of the different components of Morocco and the African continent as a whole.

Based since 1987 in Montpellier, Mohamed Lekleti regularly participates in major contemporary art exhibitions in France and abroad: Art Paris, Drawing now, Marrakesh art fair, Slick, Art élysée, Akaa, 1.54, Volta Basel ….

In 2017, he created an in situ work for the Blachère Foundation as part of the “Fuir” exhibition. In 2018 he exhibited at the Paul Valéry Museum in Séte and the Museum of Contemporary Art “Frissiras” in Athens.
