For its 18th edition, TANJAzz is offering a youthful touch with the « New Voices of Jazz »

From September 14 to 17, 2017, TANJAzz set out for new horizons: those of the « Nouvelles Voix du Jazz », chosen for this 18th edition.

After 17 successful years, the city of Tangier is preparing to host the next edition of Tanjazz, offering residents and visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the rhythm and culture of jazz music. This theme wisely proposed by Philippe Lorin, founder of TANJAzz, aims at « Seeking new voices, this is exactly my overall vision of the festival with the desire, myself, to discover and share discoveries, » he explained.

The festival will gather together numerous international music groups in performances to be held throughout the city, including the BMCI Ville and Palais Scenes, TANJAzz Club, and the TANJAzz Pub and Auditorium.

The festival will kick off on September 14 with performances by various artists, notably Michaela Rabitsch from Austria, Amparo Velasco’s ‘La Negra’ from Spain, and the Moroccan band ‘Laouma’, whose songs reflect a mixture of soul, blues, jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and traditional Moroccan music.
