King Mohammed VI has launched in Yaâcoub Al Mansour in Rabat, the national food support operation Ramadan 1440. Initiated by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity for the month of Ramadan, it aims to help, this year, more than 2.5 million people, or 500,300 households, scattered in 83 provinces and prefectures, among which 402,238 live in rural areas.
The operation, which signs its 20th edition, has a budgetary envelope of 70.242 million dirhams, and targets the most vulnerable social categories, including widows, the elderly and people with disabilities.
To ensure a smooth running of this operation, thousands of people and many actors were mobilized. Among them, social workers, volunteers including young students, as well as the National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA) which ensures, for its part, the quality control of the distributed food.
