FIFM pays tribute to Indian actor Ranveer Singh (Photos)

The 19th edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival kicked off in style on Friday, November 11. The first evening was marked by a strong tribute to Bollywood star Ranveer Singh.


During this tribute ceremony, marked by the presence of the most brilliant stars of national, Arab and international cinema, as well as personalities from the world of art, culture, and the media, Bollywood star Ranveer Singh expressed his thanks to the Festival Foundation, before receiving the Gold Star awarded to him by the advisor to the President of the Foundation, Mélita Toscane du Plantier.

The Indian actor did not fail to express his joy at being present in Marrakech as well as his love for his admirers of the ocher city who welcomed him in a warm and festive atmosphere. He then explained how this tribute will serve as motivation to continue to present more innovative and creative works in the future, expressing his pride in representing Bollywood cinema in this great cinematic event.

“Today we are celebrating a great actor, with a strong original personality”, welcomed Mélita Toscane du Plantier, advisor to the president of The FIFM, in a speech preceding the presentation of the Gold Star to the Indian star. “Self-taught, complete outsider, Ranveer Singh has become one of the most popular icons and a celebrity far beyond India’s borders,” she added.

The Bollywood star was then expected at Jemaa Lfna where a large crowd was waiting to celebrate him. Ranveer Singh then expressed his joy to receive such an honor in Morocco. He then introduced his film “Bajirao Mastani” to the audience screened immediately after the tribute.
