Moreover, the French filmmaker was joined on stage by the American “master” Martin Scorsese and the adviser to the President of the Foundation of the International Film Festival of Marrakech, Melita Toscan Du Plantier, to the uninterrupted applause of the audience.

Taking up the stage, Agnès Varda said she was “very moved” by the warm welcome she received. She was also happy to be among filmmakers from various countries, including Morocco, saying that she feels “very small next to some artists who are present, huge talents: I admire and I love them. ”

“All of us filmmakers are working to push as far as possible our imaginations, our work, our art, the 7th art”, she noted, stressing that whatever the difficulties may be, “all of us want to reach the public, to surprise, to move, to make people laugh.” “We know we are privileged because the world is in danger,” she said.
