It is the first time that a Women’s World Cup has been organized by two countries. Faced with this duo, only one opponent being Colombia, Japan, and Brazil withdrew earlier from the competition. Thus, this World Cup will be disputed, in July and August 2023, in 7 cities of Australia and 5 of New Zealand, and in 13 stadiums of which only one to be yet built, in Sydney where the final will be played. Small novelty of this Cup: the format will go from 24 to 32 teams!
Australia and New Zealand will organize the next FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament in 2023. Colombia has thus been overtaken by the Oceanian duo.
