Fatima-Zahra Akhiar is the new contestant to represent Morocco at the “Arab Reading Challenge 2019”. A contest that has gained attention last October after the victory of the little Meryem Amjoun. This young 9-year-old Moroccan was distinguished to win against 16 finalists, under 18 and from all over the Arab world.
Today, it is Fatima-Zahra Akhiar’s turn to officially embark on the adventure after brilliantly passing the national selection. “This year saw the participation of more than 7670 schools and nearly a million 125 thousand students”, as explained by the Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific research, Said Amzazi on his Twitter account.

Aged 15, Fatima-Zahra Akhiar studied in the qualifying high school Qadi Ayyad and follows the science branch (French language option) of the international baccalaureate. The final round is expected at the end of the year.
