Exhibition by Moroccan artist Mohamed Alami presents a subjective perspective of the world

« Pourquoi pas moi » (why not me) space in la Villa des Arts at Casablanca will be hosting  a new exhibition by Moroccan artist Mohamed Alami titled « An aesthetic of pain », starting May 31 until June 30, 2017.

Yesterday, La Villa des Arts hosted a reception for the opening of Mohammed Alami’s exhibition in Casablanca entitled  » Une esthétique de la douleur »  (An aesthetic of pain).

» At first glance, one notices a real expressive force, graphic dynamics and a treatment of  colors which attest a temperament of a born artist. »  said Moroccan author Abderrahman Benhamza about the artist’s work.

Indeed, the paintings portray human figures in a surreal abstract world created with dark, earthy tones, where black, colorful grays, ocher, a reddish paradoxical, straw yellow, a turbid green testify to a tormented sensitivity.

« It is a painting of  expressionism » hints Benhamza, which is a modern movement in painting that aims to present the world solely from a subjective perspective, distorting it radically for emotional effect in order to evoke moods or ideas.

This exhibition is the second for the artist who held a previous one in December 2016 at gallery Le Chevalet in Casablanca.
