Darem Bouchentouf unveils his Double Expo project in Rabat

Written by FDM

From March 21 to April 21, 2019, photographer and filmmaker Darem Bouchentouf returns with a photography exhibition under the title “Double Exposition” ( Double Exposure), in tribute to the ancient technique of analog photography.

All the works in this exhibition have as a guide a double modern exhibition through the superposition of two different photographs, one taken in Italy and the other in Morocco. Old-Fashioned editing but made in digital post-production that mixes the two images and work shadows and lights.

“This double exposure work in black and white is a new kind of light sculpture to give a deeper reading to images already rich in symbol,” says Darem Bouchentouf.

This double exposure is also the second stage of the great photographic trilogy project of the artist Darem Bouchentouf after his first project “Rimbalzi” presented and exposed in Morocco and Italy. Always in the respect of this tradition of black and white photography which multiplies the plans to add a new dimension of depth to usually flat images.

The “Double Exposure” project uses images that bring Italy together in Morocco through the use of a symbol that the artist considers an architectural signature that is constantly evolving in the different artistic periods of the kingdom.

The first presentation and exhibition of the project “Double Exposure” will take place from March 21 to April 21, 2019 in Rabat at the hotel “The View”, then will go around other galleries and exhibition spaces in Morocco and abroad with a mandatory stop in Milan, the place of art and global design.
