Dakhla welcomes the 10th edition of the Kitesurf World Championship

The city of Dakhla will host, from October 4th to 13th, 2019, the 10th edition of the World Kitesurf Championship “Prince Moulay El Hassan Kite World Cup 2019”, with the participation of the 100 best international competitors in two disciplines Freestyle and Strapless, the organizers announced on Tuesday in Casablanca.

Leila Ouachi, the president of the Lagoon Dakhla association for the development of sport and cultural animation, indicated that this 10th edition will see the participation of the world’s top Kitesurfers, including the first 3 in the GKA Word Tour for the discipline Freestyle, namely Maxime Chabloz from Switzerland, Carlos Marios from Brazil and Gianmaria Coccoluto from Italy.

In Strapelless kitesurfing, Capverdiens Airton Cozzolino and Mitu Monteiro, as well as Australian James Carew, are expected. On the women’s side, the Brazilian Mikaili Sol and the Spanish Carla Herrera are also expected to participate. Other countries will also be represented in this world competition with competitors from France, the Dominican Republic, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany and from Colombia, she said.

This world championship also reflects the values of citizenship and eco-responsibility, carried by the organizers since its creation via an ecological and sustainable dimension with actions dedicated to the cleaning of the sites of the competition, Kitesurfing sessions with the professionals in addition to free access to shows in the various sites of the competition.
