On Thursday, while it coincides with Dolores O’Riordan 47 years old birthday, new elements concerning the circumstances of her death were revealed. The Cranberries singer was found dead on January 15 in her room at the Hilton Park Lane hotel in London, England.

According to several media reports, the investigation reveals that the artist died “drowned in her bath, dressed in pajamas”. She was found ” completely submerged (nose and mouth included in the bath water” by a person in charge of the household, reports the Irish Mirror .

Empty bottles of alcohol were found in the room, as well as vials of prescription drugs each containing a number of tablets. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder, the singer responded well to her treatment but alternated periods of alcohol abstinence and excessive consumption, according to the investigation into the causes of her death.

A final report by Dr. Adam Combe states that Dolores O’Riordan died drowned as a result of massive alcoholism. The investigation thus leans for an accidental death. The Irish singer was the lead singer of  The Cranberries band, particularly famous in the 1990s, with hits like ” Zombie”, “Just My Imagination” or “Linger “.
