Classes suspended in 900 schools in rural areas due to bad weather

Written by FDM

Due to poor weather conditions in several parts of the kingdom, the Ministry of National Education has decided to temporarily suspend courses in about 900 schools mostly in rural areas.

The poor weather conditions lead the Ministry of Education to temporarily close 900 schools, most of them in rural areas with roughly 100,000 students. In its communiqué, the Ministry of Supervision indicated that the concerned institutions belong to the regional academies of education and training of Drâa-Tafilalet (Midelt – Ouarzazate – Tinghir), Marrakech-Safi (Al Haouz), Beni Mellal-Khénifra ( Khénifra – Beni Mellal – Azilal), Fès-Meknes (Ifrane) and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (Al Hoceima – Chefchaouen).

Support and remedial classes will be scheduled as soon as weather conditions  become milder.

It should be noted that some preventive measures were also taken, in particular regarding heating solutions of classrooms, boarding schools and the thermal insulation in dormitories.
