It’s now official! A third center of Les Etoiles will open its doors in Agadir in the spring of 2019. The association, led by the director Nabil Ayouch and the painter and author Mahi Binebine, has just signed a tripartite partnership agreement with the city of Agadir and INDH for the creation of the “Les Etoiles du Souss” center.

The two centers of Casablanca and Tangier seduce the inhabitants with a rich program and a multidisciplinary agenda. Thus, in Tangier, it is in the neighborhood of Beni Makada, often cited as one of the most important areas of social tension in the city, that the Les Etoiles du Détroit has taken up residence.

The Center now has close to 300 members, where young art lovers discover the practice of theater, dance (HipHop, Zumba), music and visual arts. This is not all because the center also provides language classes: French, English, and Spanish. The space has a library – the only one in the area – where books on philosophy, arts, religion, cinema, science …

Since November 2018, young hip-hop fans have come not only from Tangier, but from all over the region, to Hip Hop House, a space entirely dedicated to them within the Les Etoiles du Detroit Cultural Center. “This is a real refuge for dancers, beatboxers and rappers in Tangier where they can practice their hobby and express themselves freely,” says the Foundation. Located in the heart of Beni Makada, the Center Les Etoiles du Detroit is a place where young people from all over the region live their passion.
