Casablanca has its first Gastronomic Festival

The first Casablanca Gastronomic Festival (FGC) will take place from March 6 to 8, at Espace Toro, the organizers announced on Tuesday evening, in an attempt to create “a space for dialogue between cultures and to discover Moroccan culinary art.”

The FGC, organized by Concept Mena Group with the support of the local development company “Casa Event et Animation”, will also honor African and international gastronomies, “at a time when gastronomic tourism is booming in the world”, it was explained during a meeting with the press.

The founder of the festival, Siham El Faydi, recalled that Moroccan gastronomy, “one of the best in the world”, constitutes “a sector in its own right and an industry which deserves to be developed and promoted at its fair value”.

“We seek to synergize,  the richness of our heritage and the quality of Moroccan chefs and professionals and their creativity in order to promote this sector which offers wide opportunities”, she added.

For his part, the general manager of Casablanca Events and Animation, Mohamed Jouahri, explained that the Gastronomic Festival “aspires to position the metropolis as a privileged destination in terms of culinary art”.

This meeting aims to offer residents and visitors an “immersion in this rich,  varied universe and discover the little secrets of chefs from around the world, in a friendly and festive atmosphere”.

More than thirty national and world-renown chefs will participate for three days, to the delight of a passionate, gourmet audience or those who simply come to discover this secular art.
