The Renault Maroc Foundation, in partnership with the Hiba Foundation and the Al Jisr association, is launching the “Bibliobus” project, an itinerant library that travels to public schools in order to incite on reading and organize workshops in theater, film or art.

For this inaugural edition, which will focus on Casablanca and surroundings, the itinerant library will stop at 10 public primary schools and 2 centers of proximities in the regions of Ain Sebâa, Sidi Moumen, Hay Mohammadi and Sidi Bernoussi.

The aim of the project is to democratize access to extracurricular activities, make learning more attractive and combat school dropout. The action targets two axes: inclusion and school mobility.

The Bibliobus (library bus) will stop for one week per school and will offer schoolchildren reading, theater and arts workshops, but also projections of educational films, supervised by specialized animators. Following this week, the children will present their work, in the form of plays, works of art and animations, in the presence of their parents. Finally, in order to supply the school library, the itinerant library will sign its passage by donating a hundred books, of different levels in Arabic and French, to each of the establishments visited.

“This project aims to bring the young audience closer to culture through reading, cinema and different forms of artistic expression,” said the Renault Morocco Foundation in a statement.

To support the realization of this project, the Renault Morocco Foundation has donated a Renault Master vehicle, transformed to accommodate the necessary facilities for an itinerant library, and has fully supported the costs of the library bus. The Al Jisr association and the Hiba Foundation have built the educational program of the concept as a real space for exchange and conviviality.
