Artists Hadda Ouakki, Samira Kadiri and Saida Fikri at the “Eté des Oudayas”

The 9th edition of the International Festival of Arts and Culture “Eté des Oudayas” was organized from 27 to 30 July on the history of the Kasbah Oudayas. An event concocted by the Ministry of Culture and Communication as part of the Feast of the Throne (July 30) festivities. A rich program and renowned artists such as Hadda Ouakki, Samira Kadiri or Saida Fikri were scheduled.

An array of renowned artists was present at the 9th edition of the International Festival of Arts and Culture “Eté des Oudayas”. Al Moussiqar Abdelati Amanna opened the program on July 27,  followed by singer Abdelali El Ghaoui, both accompanied by the Maestro Charqani Orchestra.

On the second day of the festival, Hassani music and singing resonated with the voice of the artist Batoul Merouani, who left his place, in the second half of the evening, to the legend artist Hadda Ouakki who sang Amazigh songs before she was rewarded with the Golden Fibula.

On the third day, was the performance of the qanun master Furat Kaddouri, guest of honor of this edition, whose evening will be honored by the presence of the Soprano, Samira Kadiri. And to close this musical cocktail, the public had an appointment with the artist Saida Fikri, whose long career was rewarded with the Megri Award of World Music.

Throughout these lively evenings, a variety of gold medals were also awarded to important personalities who have contributed to the development of the Moroccan artistic and cultural universe, as the organizers put it in a press release. Among them, Dr. Mustapha Mchich Alami, artist Abdesslam Khalloufi and musicologist Mohamed El Medlaoui.
