Arab divas at the Institut du Monde Arabe

Written by FDM

Scheduled for May 2020, the exhibition dedicated to Arab divas will be held during the winter of 2021 at the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris. An exhibition that pays tribute to the emancipated women and stars of the music and cinema industry of their time.

The event exhibition to be held at the Arab World Institute in early 2021 will celebrate stars of 20th-century Arab music and cinema and will pay a unique tribute to these artists, who were singers, dancers, actresses, and even film producers. They had also been feminists, emancipated, and avant-garde.

From Oum Kalthoum to Warda al-Djazaïria, from Asmahan to Fayrouz, from Laila Mourad to Samia Gamal, via Souad Hosni, Sabah without forgetting Dalida, the exhibition is intended to be a fabulous journey in four acts in the heart of lives and of the art of these legendary singers and actresses, but also an exploration of the profound changes they have brought about.
