The students of Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane shone during the “Open startup Maroc” program which aims to instill in students and young graduates the skills and knowledge to start their own business.

The students of the University of Al Akhawayn made a difference in the program “Open startup Morocco” which had 94 participants including 26 students of the School of Business Administration of the University of Al Akhawayn. Six of them advanced to the semi-finals, five of the seven finalist teams each included a student member of Al Akhawayn, and each of the top three teams had an Al Akhawayn student. Delighted with its results, Al Akhawayn University said in a statement that “this performance illustrates the spirit of excellence, innovation, and initiative that prevails within the University campus.”

The result of a tripartite partnership between Impact For Development, Al Akhawayn University, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, Columbia University and OST International, Open Startup Maroc is a pre-incubation program following a network support-based model at a national and international level, which allows the sharing of lessons, the advancement of knowledge, capacity building as well as international influence. It is spread over four months and brings together teams of students with high potential from multidisciplinary and multi-regional Moroccan public and private institutions.
