Add some color to your Ramadan table with this delicious smoothie recipe

It’s almost difficult to find a “Shour” table in Ramadan without juice bottles on top of it. Especially when it’s summer time. with all the rage that’s been going on in Pinterst and Instgram about the healthy “layered” smoothies, we figured they would make a great alternative to energetically start your fast with before the sun rises .

Here is a recipe on how to make the rainbow-hued smoothie (in the picture above) that would leave you joyful throughout the day by the website sheknows.com .

Serves 1

Ingredients:

For the white layer

  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 a banana
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1/4 cup water

For the red layer

  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1/2 a banana
  • 1/2 cup ice

For the green layer

  • 1 cup kale
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 an avocado
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 cup ice

For garnish

  • Strawberries and raspberries, sliced crosswise
  • Spearmint leaves

Directions:

  1. Blend and store the layers individually in piping bags.
  2. Store in the freezer for 30 minutes – 1 hour.
  3. Cut 1 strawberry into 4 thin heart-shaped slices.
  4. Stick your strawberry hearts to the inside of the glass.
  5. Cut the tips off the piping bags, and carefully layer.
  6. Garnish with raspberries, strawberries and some mint leaves.

Yummy!
